BeConnected project brought Czech students and teachers to Ireland

The students and teachers of the Secondary School Otrokovice gained exceptional experience during October and November 2016. Thanks to the successful project BeConnected it was possible for the group of thirty students and eight teachers to go on a trip to the British Isles.

Eight teachers participated in a language course and internship at a partner school in Cork, Ireland. Intensive English lessons took place at the ACET Training Centre. The international composition of teaching groups (eg. Students from France, Germany, Spain, Japan) ensured that the communication was held exclusivelly in English.

Moreover, two teachers have completed internships at the partner school. They appreciated especially the less known methods of activation, which they could observe in the classes.

The Czech students attended language courses, too, but in addition they could get familiar with the realities of the cities of Cork and Dublin, get detailed information about the Republic of Ireland, the history of Halloween. Beside that the students visited the Dingle Peninsula, which is the westernmost point of Ireland's beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, Killarney National Park. In the evening the students could enjoy a typical Irish pub, where you can listen to live Irish band.

All participants appreciated the overall high level of the trip, the nice environment and organization of the event.
