Chefs to be from Střední průmyslová škola Otrokovice gain experience in Italy

At the beginning of October 2015 a group of six pupils studying at the Střední průmyslová škola Otrokovice to become chefs or other professionals in the field of gastronomy left for the Italian town of Rimini to experience the Italian hotels and taverns and to get new professional and language skills. The Italian cuisine is famous for its specialties such as pasta, desserts or ice cream and coffee, and also fish and seafood. Six students were divided into pairs and they finished their internships in 3 restaurants, each with a different focus and specialized also a different kind of guest. The first couple has learned to handle fish and seafood, the other were working mainly with vegetables and other ingredients to prepare fast lunches and the third focused on Italian pastries and other parts of the breakfast menu.

In their free time, students explored places of interest in Rimini and its surroundings and enjoyed the long sandy beaches.

The programme is financed by the Erasmus+ programme which funds the travel expenses and expenses connected with the stay.

The students obtained a certificate which we hope will help them to find a job abroad.
